The Importance of Maintenance
Your septic system is responsible for safely disposing of waste from your property. This system includes a large watertight tank that collects waste from sinks, toilets, and other drains. Once the waste is in the tank, it separates into three layers: solid waste, floatable waste, and liquid waste. The liquid waste is then dispersed into a network of pipes, called a drain field, which is located next to the tank. There, soil filters bacteria and viruses out of the wastewater while the remainder of the waste stays in the tank.
Ridding your property of waste involves several steps, and when there is a problem at any point in this process, your entire home or business can be affected. If you have soggy areas in your yard, notice foul odors, or find your drains backing up, you may be overdue for a septic service. The Shirley team of service and repair professionals is ready to get to work.
